~ Our Guidance ~

Al-Quran is the book of guidance. With the greatest love from ALLAH, The Most Merciful, ayat by ayat was sent down to His Messenger to guide humans to worship One and Only God, ALLAH. It is said to be one of the 'mukjizat' of Ar-Rasul, Muhammad SAW.

"This is the Book (the Qur'an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun [the pious and righteous persons who fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)]."  (Al-Baqarah : 2)

What are the things that Quran guide us?
A lot.. but all bring us back to the most basic thing in life, which is our way of thinking. As we all know and realize, our way of thinking will certainly effect our action. If we see things positively, we will face it with energy and excitement. If we look at something negatively, then we will react negatively. If we cannot think, then we will easily get influenced by the environment and by other people.

How does the verses of Quran do this?
When we read Quran, I am sure we would be able to see that ALLAH keep on repeating HIS reminder and ayat. Some ayat we can find it in one surah. Later when we read another surah, we find another ayat which is similar to the one that we've read sometime before.

"Wow, it is the same ayat!" - sometimes I said this ;)

As the conclusion, it is the repetition of ayat that make Quran our guidance.

Why HE repeat the verses?
The answer is, because of you, human! Human tend to forget and repeating the mistakes. Look inside ourselves and ask, is this true? Have you ever did a mistake that you've once regretted? I did. So, that is why, Quran is sent down by ALLAH...coz HE want to guide us and remind us, not to do the same mistake again.

HE is the Most Knowledgeable, Subhanallah! HE did not send down the ayat of reminder of a particular thing at one chapter or in one surah, but the reminders are in between the other reminder. For example, not all story of the descendent of Adam and Hawa is told in one surah. There are some ayat about it in suratul Baqarah and some in al-A'raf and some other surah. Why HE arranged the ayat by such way?

Simple, coz human or 'insan' always forget.

Guidance to Way Of Thinking
The content of Quran functions as our guidance to set a way of thinking in a person. It actually guide us of what to think and how. You see, repetition is important if you want to understand and master something. That's why our teachers ask us to do lots of practices (especially math) as it will allow us to understand and see the pattern of the problems we need to solve.

That's how Quran functions in our lives too. Let's all keep reading it, so that HE will guide us on what to think and how to think of it. Look at the verses, we will find that ALLAH want us to think A LOT about HIM. HIS verses on the stories of HIS messengers guide us to think as how the messengers think. The messengers were thinking of their people's problem, very little to think about themselves. Their sorrow were because of their people's negligence and disobedience to ALLAH.

Look around us...think of our beloved ones...What are the things that come across our mind when we think about them? Is it only about what meal that they have today or their dresses? Have we ever worried about their relationship with ALLAH, our Creator?

Let's start thinking the way of Quran! =)
